In this week’s episode, DJ Jazzy Jeff wraps up the Middle Eastern portion of his tour. The crew gets an opportunity of a life time hanging out in the Red Bull pits at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Bahrain. As a Red Bull DJ, Jeff was thrilled to witness the victory of the Red Bull racing team. Following the race, Jeff catches up with world class driver Lewis Hamilton to talk cars and music. The conversation continues back at the palace where Jeff uses the Prince’s personal studio to record scratches for Mint Condition’s single “Girl Of My Life.” On a day off, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Skillz decide to put on a special performance for some deserving people. They show their appreciation to the men and women of the armed forces by playing at a military base in Abu Dhabi. The crew leaves the Middle East on a high note only to have a run in with the law at their next stop, Paris. Check out Vinyl Destination episode 7 here.
In this weeks episode, the tour continues in Qatar and Bahrain or as Skillz calls it “Boo-rain”. After taking us on a picturesque and musically fulfilling journey through the ins and outs of Asia, the crew heads to the Middle East. The team gets off to a rough start with flight delays and missing headphones, but all is well that ends with water sports and a royal invitation. Who could it be? Tune in to find out who invited Jeff to dinner and how the team managed to find a McDonalds look-alike that tastes like Burger King at the beginning of their adventures through the Middle East.
In this weeks episode, the tour continues in Pattaya and Phuket. After experiencing beautiful beaches and the incredible sunsets of Thailand, the team is off to Japan with stops in Kyoto, Fukuoka and Tokyo! But somewhere along the way, a key member of the team goes missing. Where in the world is DJ Jazzy Jeff? No matter how hectic things get, one can never lose the headliner! Today, tomorrow means more than yesterday.
I have yet nothing else to say as my pride chases sanction in the presence of a sound by Adele’s “HomeTown Glory.” The strictest of keys jolting my memories, flashing my life, holding me hostage while my mind knows not what to write. But in regards to all we know, all we are and all we will become, Today, Tomorrow means more than yesterday. Remember.

His Vinyl Destination series is now on its third installment, which takes us to places like Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia. A New Year signifies fresh starts and new beginnings. But it is also an opportunity for reflection on past experiences, opportunities and lessons learned that provide inspiration for the future.
Enter DJ Jazzy Jeff and his new web series Vinyl Destination.
In 2012, DJ Jazzy Jeff toured the world, literally. And he was able to capture the adventure on camera for everyone to see. Last week, DJ Jazzy Jeff released a preview of Vinyl Destination. Fans have responded eagerly in anticipation of the start of the full series.
The first episode of Vinyl Destination airs today, and begins with Jeff’s visit to Hong Kong during his Asian Tour. Subsequent episodes will air biweekly and cover over 50 cities in more than 20 countries across four continents. Viewers will share in the excitement that fans all over the globe enjoyed when their favorite DJ took the stage. Look out for appearances by legendary artists like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Estelle, Rohan Marley and more.
“I am blessed to be able to travel the world and play music for people to enjoy,” said Jeff. “So I thought it would be a great idea to record it this time so that I could take my fans along for the ride.”
Filmed and edited by Cristopher Schafer of Virginia-based production company, Visually Inklined, Vinyl Destination shows viewers what it is really like to be one of the world’s busiest DJ’s. In addition to DJ Jazzy Jeff, Schafer and the rest of the Visually Inklined team have also worked with artists like The Roots and Travis Barker.
Schafer was especially impacted by his unforgettable journey with DJ Jazzy Jeff.
“I’ve learned so much about music and its impact on people of all cultures while traveling and filming with DJ Jazzy Jeff,” says Schafer of his experience working with Jeff.
Vinyl Destination is a must watch series for everyone. Even those not as familiar with DJ culture will be intrigued by the many facets of Jeff’s voyage. Prepare to revel in the people, food, sights, culture and, most of all, the MUSIC.
